On August 2, 2023, Paolo Guglielmini, President and CEO of Hexagon, acquired from Melker Schorling AB (MSAB), 1 million shares of Hexagon at a price of 101 SEK. This purchase is currently financed by Guglielmini using an external bank, with MSAB acting solely as guarantor. Guglielmini bears the full risk associated with the upside and downside of the share price.

Melker Schörling passed away peacefully this weekend at his home, surrounded by his closest family: his wife Kerstin and daughters Sofia and Märta. Words cannot adequately convey our sense of loss and grief. We remember Melker as a fantastic friend and fellow human being with a genuine interest in people and building businesses. He always had time for everyone around him and was happy to let other people take the spotlight. Melker drew energy from outings in nature and hunting, two passions he carried with him from childhood. Melker’s wisdom, values and big heart will live on through the people he had around him, as well as the corporate cultures he helped to build. The group of companies created by Melker continues to be run in Melker’s spirit by his daughters Sofia and Märta, together with a large network of successful business leaders. Melker Schörling, one of the founders of ASSA ABLOY, passed away on 8 December 2023 at age 76. Through his ownership and active engagement as member of the board between 1994-2008 his role in the Group’s success has been instrumental.

Gun Nilsson has decided to step down as CEO for Melker Schörling AB to retire from the operational part of her career and focus on board work going forward, which means a more flexible agenda for her and her family in terms of time. Nils-Johan Andersson today CFO for MSX a Bain Capital owned service company is appointed as the new CEO and will take up the position on October 1, 2022.

The Schörling Family Foundation supports the work of the Red Cross and the UN refugee agency UNHCR to help people in need, because of the armed conflict in Ukraine. The organizations will receive SEK 50 million each.

On December 9, we received the sad news of Melker Schörling’s passing. Melker Schörling was appointed CEO and President of Securitas in 1987, concurrently becoming an owner, and shortly thereafter, Securitas was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. In 1992, he became Chairman of the Board, a position which he held for 25 years until 2017.
