Continuously contributing to company development

A small family business with large holdings

In 1987, Melker Schörling became the CEO of Securitas. He made his first major investment in the company the same year. A little more than 10 years later, he ended his operative career to start his company MSAB, Melker Schörling AB. As an active owner, his focus has always been the development of industrial companies together with talented leaders. Today, the business is run in the same spirit by the second generation under the name Schörling. We are a major shareholder in a few publicly listed companies, all of which are market leaders.

Over the past two decades, Schörling has successfully supported and developed companies that have grown from local players to world leaders. We know that the key to success is skilled and competent people. Therefore, it is crucial that these people have the right conditions, which is what makes it possible for our companies to develop continuously.

Schörling's ambition is to transform all companies that we invest in to leaders in their respective markets. We do this by acting as a major shareholder and being represented in the companies’ boards and nomination committees. The active board work is multifaceted. This may for example involve defining the company's business orientation and strategy, and creating the right capital structure for major investments, acquisitions and spin-offs. Perhaps the single most important task is to appoint the CEO.

It’s all about the people

From time to time, opportunities arise to strengthen our companies' market positions through larger acquisitions or structural transactions. Thus, Schörling can support the companies financially.

Schörling has a small, flexible and efficient organisation with only a handful of employees. This means that decisions are made quickly and efficiently. We also have a large network that has been growing ever since Melker Schörling made his first investment in Securitas. The network contributes with the contacts and skills necessary to implement the companies' strategies.
